Well, it took a bit of detective work on my part (what would we do without Google) but I finally uncovered the facts behind my suspicions. My husband who is on the job market and had posted his resume here and there, was contacted by a woman claiming to be from tulsajobs.com. They had seen his resume online and were "very impressed". As a matter of fact, it had made its way around their office and when the "Executive Vice President" (oh please........) saw it, he just had to know how soon my dh could come in for an interview.
So, not one to make ugly or to assume the worst, dh agreed to set up this interview with the "Executive Recruiter" who had several potential matches. Of course, he is savvy enough not to do so all too soon; setting it up for the next week. So today, we had a few spare moments (rare these days-as there are gardens to plant, animals to tend to, banquets to attend, and plans in force to pick up our wonderful first-born from college) and we decided to do some digging.
I must say, these guys have learned quite well how to fly under the radar. They seem to have become quite adept at using all the tricks in the book to keep ahead of those that might report their scams. This company (and I use that word loosely) has been wise enough to change names routinely and also not have their phone numbers out there. But alas, few are crafty enough to escape Google's virtual snoop-dogs!
So, bottom-line, I'm writing this little blog for anybody else who might wish to investigate tulsajobs.com OR JL Kirk Associates OR Bernard Haldane OR BHA, whomever they are calling themselves today. There are blogs within Google blogs that list all of the aforementioned names, with the exception of their apparent newest: tulsajobs.com. Ironically enough, type in www.tulsajobs.com and you get to a junk page. I'm consolidating all the possible names you might come across to save you some time. Oh - and here's the latest phone numbers for them: 405-604-6644 and 918-477-7126. The supposed Vice President - Frank Verrill was nowhere to be found online until hopefully now. Also, note their address of 7060 South Yale, suite 707.
Do some reading using the cornucopia of company names I've come across to search and then I suggest you run away fast. Of course that is just my opinion; you decide for yourself. But essentially, if it sounds like a scam, tastes like a scam, and smells like a scam - it probably is.
As for my dh, he's on the ball enough to have his antenna up, but I am really, really, really concerned about those folks who might be less experienced or who are at their wits end in their job hunt and fall prey to predators lurking in the bushes.
If you were contacted by this company and decided to search the web for info and came across my blog-all I can say is-I'm sorry. I truly wish you the best of luck in your search!

First blog .... I hope .... If this works

Thanks to Vinita Khade for giving me this blog link for beginners. I really want to blog for 3 main reasons: to let Kate see what's going on around here while she's making us proud at Mississippi State,to keep the parents, siblings, and a few close friends informed of all of our antics out here, and to help document our progress in developing our property.
It's really pathetic how excited I get about walnuts and pecans and bailing hay for the first time (and we don't even want to talk about Kenny and his mower and tractor just yet) but special love goes out to Mom and Dad who don't seem to mind my little excited updates. I think they might actually get a kick out of them-but if not-they're being very tolerant......xoxoxoxox
